Angie Fuentes was born in Ft. Benning, Georgia and was raised on various Army bases until her father retired to his hometown of Edinburg, Texas in 1980. She graduated from Edinburg High School in 1986 and started a 32-year career in banking. Starting as a bookkeeper with First National Bank of Edinburg, Texas and leaving the banking industry in 2018 as the Controller of Austin Capital Bank in Austin, Texas.
Angie’s focus was on financial, board, & regulatory reporting, and overseeing other accounting functions. She used the project management skills gained during various financial institution core system software conversions to ensure that all financial information was accurately integrated into the core system to meet the bank’s regulatory reporting & financial reporting requirements.
She moved in 2019 to be near her parents after their move from Taylor, Texas to her mother’s hometown of Thomaston. She took a position with Upson County as the Accounts Payable/Cash Collections accountant for the Upson County Board of Commissioners in August of 2019 before taking the Accounting Manager position in August of 2021.
