Emergency Notification System

Fires. Road closures. Gas leaks. How will you find out about countywide emergencies and disasters?

Your safety is our top concern. Early warning helps save lives and property. That’s why Upson county wants to make sure you know about emergencies and disasters as they happen.

 

Upson County will use the Everbridge SmartGIS System to let you know about issues that may affect your safety. The Everbridge system will allow Upson County to contact thousands of residents in seconds so you find out about an emergency right away.

 

Receive important messages from the County on your phone, email, and more.

Everbridge SmartGIS System can deliver messages to you any way you want—on your home phone, cell phone, email, and more. This way, we can reach you in any emergency. We may also use the system in non-emergency situations to let you know about important City-related events, such as meetings, parade closures, or street cleaning changes.

 

How does it work?

The process begins when the County issues a message about a potential safety hazard or concern. Messages will be sent to all standard voice and text communication devices, including listed land line phones, cell phones, e-mail, and more. If you don't confirm receipt of the message, the system will try to reach your second contact number or email. The system will continue trying to contact you until it receives a confirmation from you.

Citizens that currently have a landline telephone will automatically receive “Emergency” alerts without having to sign up.  Severe weather alerts are considered “Emergency” alerts so you do not have to sign up (opt-in) to receive those.  You must sign up (opt-in) to receive other types of “Non-Emergency” notifications or to provide alternate ways of contacting you.

 

Your help by Thursday February 28th is critical.

Please update your contact information as soon as possible.
