[ARCHIVED] Commissioners Announce Completion of Service Delivery Strategy

THOMASTON, GA - Chairman Norman Allen & the Upson County Board of Commissioners are pleased to announce the completion of the 2020 Service Delivery Strategy (SDS) revision.

At the January 28th joint meeting of the Upson County Board of Commissioners and the Thomaston City Council, both commission and council voted unanimously to approve the latest version of their SDS.

City and County elected officials and staff have dedicated hundreds of hours together to build this framework over the past six months.  The plan contains strategies for the provision of 27 separate public services and is the structure for a comprehensive model of functional consolidation for many of those services.

The last Service Delivery Strategy was submitted to the Department of Community Affairs and approved in 2007. “After several extensions and many months of good faith discussion I am proud to say we have a path forward that provides efficient services to our entire community. I am thankful to have a Mayor and City Council who are willing to stand with us (commissioners) to keep this county moving forward.” said Chairman Allen.
