Documents relating to jury service may be returned either in person at our office or by email (upsonjury@upsoncountyga.org).

If summoned, your attendance is required by law herein fail not under penalty of law (pursuant to Georgia Law Title 15, Chapter 12).

What should I wear?
  • Wear business casual attire, such as dress slacks or a skirt with a collared shirt or blouse. Avoid wearing overly casual or inappropriate clothing.
Can I bring my cell phone or electronic devices into the courtroom?
  • Yes, you may bring your cell phone into the Justice Center. It will, however, need to be placed on silent, and turned off BEFORE entering any courtroom.
What happens when I arrive for jury duty?
  • The specific dates and times will be provided in your summons. Upon arrival, jurors will enter the front doors of the Justice Center and go through a security screening. Following this screening, you will be directed to the correct location for jury service.
Are there any exemptions or deferrals available if I can't attend on the scheduled dates?
  • Exemptions or deferrals may be available for certain individuals who meet specific criteria; check the instructions on your summons for details.
Will I be compensated for my time during jury duty?
  • Yes, you will be compensated for serving as a juror. The compensation is fifty dollars per day of service (reporting at courthouse). You will be paid by check and it will be mailed to you. 
Where do I report for jury service?
  • All jurors must report to the Upson County Judicial Center, 1185 Highway 19 South, for jury service. They will park in the front parking lot.
