Senior Center

History

The Thomaston - Upson Senior Center is located in the former R.E. Lee Military building and Dining Hall. This building is also known as, Memorial Hall. It was dedicated in the memory of the teacher and four students that perished in the Winecoff Hotel fire in 1946. The plaques honoring the following are displayed in the building.

Today

Currently the building is used by the senior citizens of Upson County. Activities that are available at the center include:

  • Arts and Crafts
  • Billiards
  • Bingo
  • Bridge
  • Exercise Classes

The center also has an exercise room where seniors can come in and utilize up to date equipment at their leisure. There is a meal program that is available as well.
